In November 2025, EgeTrans not only successfully completed the re-certification of its ISO 9001 Quality Management System, but also obtained the ISO 14001 certification for its Environmental Management System for the first time. This achievement reinforces the company’s consistent commitment to sustainable operations and environmental responsibility.
ISO 14001 is based on the PDCA cycle (Plan–Do–Check–Act) and requires a structured analysis of an organization’s environmental aspects, the definition of clear environmental objectives and measures, and a risk management approach from an environmental perspective. Another core component is the continuous improvement of environmental performance, supported by regular audits and management reviews. The standard also emphasizes the involvement of employees and leadership to enable sustainable change across the entire organization. ISO 14001 is industry-independent and recognized worldwide, making it an international benchmark for environmental management systems.
“With the ISO 14001 certification, we demonstrate that we not only meet the highest quality standards but also take active responsibility for protecting our environment,” says Daniel Lorentschk, Quality & Sustainability Manager at EgeTrans. “In recent months, we have taken extensive measures ranging from the analysis of our environmental impacts to raising awareness among our employees about environmentally conscious behavior.”
For an internationally operating logistics company like EgeTrans, ISO 14001 holds particular significance. It ensures that the company meets the highest standards not only in terms of quality and service (ISO 9001) but also in sustainability. As part of global logistics and supply chains, EgeTrans assumes responsibility for the environment and provides customers with reliable, environmentally conscious, and future-ready logistics solutions.
“This achievement is not only a recognition of our efforts to date but also a commitment for the future,” Lorentschk adds. “EgeTrans will continue to advance and refine its processes and structures to uphold quality, sustainability, and environmental protection together.”
