Continuity in sponsoring

EgeTrans extends its contract as name sponsor of the multifunctional arena in Bietigheim-Bissingen by a further three years until the end of 2024, thus continuing its long-standing cooperation with Stadtwerke Bietigheim-Bissingen.

Since the opening of the arena in December 2012, the international freight forwarder has been the arena's namesake and is consequently entering its tenth year of partnership with the viaduct city.

Continuity is also important to EgeTrans CEO Marcel Steinmüller: "Sustainable relationships have always been a high priority at EgeTrans. This applies not only to personnel, customers and business partners, but also in the area of sponsorship. As the arena's namesake, we've been able to raise our profile in the region over the past nine years, which also has a very positive effect in the area of recruiting."

The logistics service provider, which has its core competencies in sea and air freight, has been able to expand its business significantly in recent years. Accordingly, the need for personnel has also increased. At the time of the arena's opening in 2012, 76 people were employed at the headquarters on the banks of the Neckar River in Marbach, today there are 170. Worldwide, 200 people work for EgeTrans, which in addition to its headquarters in Germany also has locations in the USA and Mexico.

In parallel to sponsoring the name of the arena, the company has been a partner of the Bietigheim Steelers since 2012, who have been playing in the first German ice hockey league DEL since summer 2021 and play their home games in the EgeTrans Arena. Since 2018, EgeTrans has also had a partnership with the men's handball team SG BBM Bietigheim, whose home games in the second Handball Bundesliga are also largely played in the arena. Despite the international orientation of its business, EgeTrans attaches great importance to regional ties when it comes to sponsoring. In addition to its commitments in Bietigheim, the company has also supported the soccer youth of FC Marbach for many years.

Since the opening of the EgeTrans Arena, the multifunctional arena in Bietigheim-Bissingen has established itself as a central venue for top-class sports in the region, where ice hockey and handball can be seen at Bundesliga level. The hall is operated by Stadtwerke Bietigheim-Bissingen (SWBB). In addition to the arena, the multifunctional energy supply company also operates the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and is also responsible for wastewater treatment. With more than 240 employees, SWBB is constantly and consistently driving forward the energy turnaround. This also includes the energy-efficient operation of facilities - such as the EgeTrans Arena - and the expansion of renewable energies.

Dipl. Ing. (FH) Richard Mastenbroek, Managing Director of SWBB, adds: "Continuity, reliability and trusting cooperation have always been a given with EgeTrans in the past years, so it is only logical to continue this for the coming years".
